One Week.

In exactly one week from today I will be in Chambery, France beginning my six week journey, that will end with hopefully a renewed appreciation for other cultures and the ability to speak French. It's finally hit me that I'm leaving; I don't know why getting accepted to the University of Savoie, buying my air fare or train ticket didn't but whatever the reason it wasn't until tonight when I sat down and got a binder together with all my important documents that I realized I'm actually going. The funny thing is what I'm most anxious and nervous about is the actual traveling part, I'm not worried about being by myself I'm just worried about traveling internationally and ending up in a place that doesn't speak the same language I do.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is exactly what I wanted - and still is what I want. I want to travel for a living so I know that this is only the first of many trips, but that's what makes it so exciting and new. When I come home in 6 - short - weeks I will be a better person for experiencing this. I've experienced first hand how people bond when you travel abroad with them, and I cannot wait to meet the people who I am sure will become like another family to me. (I'd say second family but it seems that I already have so many, I'd rather not use numerical connotation)

So for now, I'm just going to enjoy my last few days in the States and maybe start to pack. I hope to update this as often as possible when I'm overseas since it'll be a lot easier than emailing multiple people and worrying about updating facebook, twitter, etc. etc.

Until next time...
